NC GOP Elected Officials

Richard Burr - United States Senator - The senior Senator from North Carolina was first elected to the US House of Representatives in 1994. Burr was elected to the Senate in 2004 and faces re-election in 2010. Senator Burr serves on the Senate Armed Forces Committee, the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, the committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, and is the ranking member of the Senate Veteran's Affairs committee.

Senator Burr lives in Winston-Salem with his wife Brooke, and has been a frequent guest at Forsyth GOP events.

Virginia Foxx - United States Congress - Congresswoman Foxx was elected to the US House of Representatives from the 5th District in 2004 where she serves on the powerful House Rules Committee. She also services on the House Committees on Agriculture, Education and Labor, and Oversight and Government Relations. Before being elected to the US Congress, Mrs. Foxx served five terms in the North Carolina Senate

Congresswoman Foxx lives in Banner Elk with her husband Tom.
